4×4 Wildlife watching adventures on the Isle of Skye

Climb aboard our specially converted 4×4 minibus for a wildlife safari to remember, visiting hidden corners of the Isle of Skye with our very knowledgeable guide who with decades of experience, knows where to find the best of Scotland’s famous species for you to try and see. We have some top-quality Swarovski Optik binoculars and a telescope you will be able to try out, but do bring your own binoculars if you have them.

Our aim is to show you what we call the “Skye Five” which are the golden eagle, white tailed eagle, red deer, otter and seals in a 6-7 hour tour around the island. We will get off the tarmac in some places and a little walking might be involved to reach the best vantage points. Depending on the day there will be other wildlife to see of course which could include birds of prey like hen harriers, sparrowhawks, buzzards and merlin, or even whales, dolphins or porpoise from some of the shore locations that we might visit. You just never know what we will find and every day will be different. Of course you will be driving amongst the famous Skye scenery that the island is famous for with the dramatic Cuillin mountains, curious rock formations, dramatic sea cliffs and beautiful beaches around every turn.

Check with us who we can find emerging as darkness falls as we visit some favourite locations for these nocturnal wanderers. Deer, bats, owls, badgers, foxes and several other species can all be found hunting for food after dark. So wrap up warm and climb aboard.

 

All SKYEFARI tours must be booked in advance please and start/end times will vary depending on the season and weather on the day. Prices range from £90 to £150 per person for the day tour depending on numbers, and a fixed £90 per person for the night tour.

Packed lunches for day trips can be provided at a cost of £15 per head.
