The chic and elegant Duisdale House Hotel is also situated on the Sleat peninsula at the south tip of Skye, has breath-taking views and peaceful, picturesque gardens, and an outdoor hot tub. Built in 1865 as a Hunting Lodge, Duisdale House was given a new lease of life when it was refurbished to provide an immaculate, stylish boutique hotel, where guests are offered the highest level of service to ensure a memorable stay. This is reflected in the awards won by the hotel, including Scotland’s Independent Hotel of the Year (Catering in Scotland Awards, 2015).
Dining at Duisdale is a must as the team of chefs are dedicated to offering the best of island and Highland cuisine. You can choose to dine in our 2 AA rosette fine dining restaurant where you will enjoy innovative Scottish cooking at its best, or a more casual supper in the Chart Room.
Relaxation is a priority during your stay at Duisdale, with an outdoor hot tub available exclusively to residents. A range of activities is also available to inspire an action-packed break. In addition, you can book a round of golf or an afternoon’s salmon fishing at our sister hotel, Skeabost House Hotel, further north on the island.
Weddings and romantic honeymoons are a speciality at Duisdale House Hotel. Whether it is an intimate ‘just for two’ wedding, or a large party with family and friends, we have bespoke wedding options that will make the perfect day.
Each of our individually styled bedrooms is unique and distinctive and complements the historic features of Duisdale House.
From our classic double or twin bedrooms with views over mature woodlands, to our grand four-poster doubles with sea views over the Sound of Sleat to towards the mountains of the West Highlands, we are sure you will find staying at Duisdale House a delight. Your comfort and convenience is paramount with each room thoughtfully equipped with everything you need for your stay.
Our two AA rosette restaurant fine dining menu delivers the best of local produce, which our creative kitchen team uses to deliver outstanding dishes that delight the palate and the eye. Duisdale recently won Informal Dining Venue of the year at the Scottish Hotel Awards.
The menu changes daily to include the freshest of ingredients from Skye’s larder. We have an impressive wine list, a fine range of Scottish Malts Whiskies and a selection of Gins that is second to none. The Chart Room menu provides a relaxed option for a light lunch or an early evening meal from our à la carte menu that offers the same delicious, local produce and attention to detail.
Tying the knot could not be more special than on romantic Skye, known as ‘The Misty Isle’ and the setting for many films. The wild, breathtaking scenery makes the perfect backdrop for those precious wedding moments.
The Sonas Collection is a small group of boutique hotels on the Isle, comprising Toravaig House, Duisdale House and Skeabost House Hotels. Each has a unique character and qualities that lend themselves perfectly to form the backdrop to the most romantic day of your life.
Our in-house wedding team are passionate about creating perfect weddings and have many glowing reviews that testify to that.
As a small family-run business, each wedding is personal to us. We invite our wedding couples to treat the hotel like their home. Nothing is too much trouble and we are here to make sure their day plays out exactly as planned. We love when the wedding party takes over the hotel exclusively so they can truly relax and enjoy a ‘house party’ atmosphere.
